Job Summary

Under close supervision, assists with food preparation, serving and clean-up in the cafeteria, production, storeroom, tray line and related areas. Assists stocking of food items. Serves food to customers. Prepares, assembles, and delivers food to patient rooms. Follows and implements HACCP guidelines. Complies with regulatory agency requirements. May assist in directing the activities of other Food Service Workers.



Essential Functions:

  • Prepares a variety of foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures. (60%)
  • Participates in post meal cleanup tasks as assigned or directed, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, and working in dish room and pot room as needed. (25%)
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed and provide cooks with needed items. (10%)
  • May assist in directing the work of other Food Service Workers (5%)


Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED required


Work Experience:

  • Less than 1 year related experience required


Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and equipment used to clean surface areas sufficient to be able to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Skill in understanding and following oral, illustrated, written or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
