Position Description

Responsible for analysis, administration, and support of VMWare Horizon View VDI, thin clients, and other VDI –related technology.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists with design and implementation of new infrastructure and technologies.

  • Develop scripts to automate the monitoring of VDI environment.

  • Responds to End user requests for technical support and assistance after escalation.

  • Executes application virtualization using VMWare ThinApp, App Volumes, RDSH.

  • Publishes desktop and individual applications via RDSH according to the department requirements in the organization.

  • Provides trend analysis of VDI performance and incidents.

  • Develop business continuity plans for VDI environment.

  • Works cross-teams to deliver a high-performance virtual environment.

Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field and five years of experience with VMWare, VDI Horizon View, or other desktop virtualization. Possession of VMWare VCTA certification preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Position requires strong customer service skills, an in-depth knowledge of modern end user hardware and software technology support, desktop virtualization, operating systems, and enterprise support methodology; ability to work independently, exercise good judgement, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people is a must; ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely fashion and to be flexible and thrive in a fast paced and active work environment are critical to this role.
