We’re on the lookout for a full-time Functions & Operations Team Leader to join our Client & Workplace Experience (CWE) team in Melbourne. This is a high-energy, hands-on leadership role at the heart of the Deloitte guest experience—perfect for someone who enjoys being on their feet, leading from the front and making things happen. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless events and hospitality services, from room setups and event pack-downs to front-of-house service and operational coordination. What will your typical day look like? 

  • Each day you’ll take charge of event and catering operations across Deloitte Melbourne’s client and internal floors. You’ll coordinate with the Hospitality Lead to ensure every function—from small executive meetings to large corporate events—runs smoothly and exceeds expectations. 
  • You’ll oversee food and beverage delivery, manage inventory and procurement, and supervise a dedicated front-of-house team across multiple levels. Whether you’re briefing staff, supporting VIP guests, liaising with suppliers, or responding to last-minute changes, you’ll keep the operation running seamlessly while maintaining Deloitte’s signature high standards.

You may have all or some of the following skills and experiences: 

  • Proven experience leading hospitality or event operations in a corporate or premium environment 

  • A hands-on leader who’s comfortable being on the floor, on your feet and in the action 

  • Strong people leadership and clear communication skills 

  • High attention to detail across event setup, service delivery and pack-down 

  • Ability to juggle priorities and stay calm in fast-paced, physically active environments 

  • Experience with food and beverage operations, including stock handling and supplier coordination 

  • Practical knowledge of front-of-house logistics, catering and event setup 

  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, Partners and VIP guests 

  • Safety-first mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement 

  • RSA required; barista skills a plus
