As an employee of DCS Asset Maintenance, you will need to have an eye for detail, all while using your skills and expertise to uphold our company’s morals and principles, as well as adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The perfect applicant is a highly motivated General Roadway Groundskeeper that can perform a variety of tasks related to highway mowing operations, which require the use of hand tools and lawn equipment to help with the maintenance of the grounds. This person will also assemble, install, and maintain the equipment of our Roadways.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Demonstrate a positive safety culture by performing responsibilities in full compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for roadside mowing within project scope and in accordance with FDOT regulations.
• Follows safety procedures, policies, and guidelines of FDOT.
• Ensures that employer expectations and quality standards are met.
• Perform all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
• Sets up any required MOT for roadside mowing, tree trimming or other vegetation maintenance activities.
• Performs lawn maintenance using tractors, zero turn mowers, chainsaws, edgers, blowers or any other equipment necessary to keep roadside mowing areas neat and presentable.
• Uses and maintains any hand or power tools and performs required maintenance.
• Reports on any necessary repairs on client assets or company tools and equipment.
• Perform assigned ground and maintenance tasks in an organized and timely manner.
• Works with minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment.
• Displays friendly, helpful, and pleasant demeanor with traveling public.
• Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, subcontractors, security, and suppliers.
• Promote a strong customer service culture among project team members.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving. (must be able to pass an mvr search.)
• Must have own reliable transportation.
• Must have 1 year of related groundskeeping, maintenance, and/or related equipment experience.
• Must have the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
• Must be comfortable working alongside the highway or median beside fast-moving traffic.
• This position is labor intensive. Employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time.
• Advanced mot certified preferred.
• First aid and CPR certified preferred.
