GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Implements a comprehensive marketing strategy strengthen and align the brand of DCAC to enhance awareness, support consistent revenue growth and educate the community about the mission of the agency.  

ABOUT DCAC: The mission of the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC is a non-profit organization and the only agency of its kind in Dallas County, working in agreement with public and private agencies to investigate, prosecute, and provide healing services for child abuse 
cases in Dallas County. We reduce the victimization of the child, remove barriers to investigation and treatment, and enhance criminal prosecution with our distinctive multidisciplinary and united approach to these complex and severe cases, all at no cost to our clients. Each year, DCAC serves over 13,000 children and their non-offending family members. 

We are a national and international leader in the Children's Advocacy Center movement, recognized 
for our expertise in the identification, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse cases; cutting edge clinical services and programs for the victims and their non-offending family members; and our community and professional training programs.

Staff Supervision: Marketing Specialist

 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Collaborates with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) in the development and implementation of yearly goals and objectives to support the agency’s short- and long-term strategic plans.
Oversees the planning, development, and implementation of all agency related marketing and communications including but not limited to collateral and advertising, website, social media, email marketing, speeches, event scripts, print and digital content and other agency communication.
Oversees the daily activities of the department including budgeting, planning and staff development.
Utilizes data to inform effective decision making to increase engagement and enhance brand awareness across broadening key stakeholder audiences.
Supports the growth of the agency through creating strong internal relationships with each department and program, to ensure that brand standards are upheld, and programmatic outcomes are effectively communicated solidifying brand identity, and promoting brand awareness across broadening key stakeholder audiences.
Serves as liaison for all departments in the agency to ensure execution of all collateral needs and marketing assets, including adherence to brand standards, look and feel, etc.
Works with the Director of Development on strategy and execution of all annual fundraising events, campaigns and donor acquisition and retention strategies to ensure team fundraising goals are met.
Creates and manages an annual agency marketing calendar, including messaging and communications strategy to ensure a comprehensive plan is in place
Develops, implements and maintains agency brand standards and provides training to the organization (staff and board of trustees) to ensure consistency and effectiveness of brand recognition.
Works with public relations firms to ensure coverage surrounding DCAC programs, child abuse issues, special events, public announcements, and awareness/presence of DCAC in the community.
Ensures that the day-to-day operations and work products of the marketing and communications team align with DCAC’s overall marketing strategy and are legally compliant.
Provides support to CAO regarding strategic and crisis communications.
Provides support to CAO and the Chief of Staff (COS) regarding internal and board communication needs.
Monitors and manages the department’s budget to ensure that expenditures align with budgeted goals and objectives.

Staff Leadership:

Provides a thorough and robust on-boarding and training for new hires and helps to acclimatize them to the work environment and agency’s culture.
Sets expectations, goals and objectives to ensure staff understand their duties and responsibilities.
Monitors employee’s productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching.
Generates sustainable and manageable workloads and ensures tasks to align diverse marketing efforts and activities with the agency’s objectives.
Works with staff to prepare goals and objectives for the year and submits annual performance evaluations.
Disseminates agency information to team members and maintains an open line of communication for questions or concerns.
Recognizes staff developments and accomplishments and supports professional development and growth.
Partners with human resources and Chief Advancement Officer when workplace conflict arises and provides the leadership that enables team member to be productive and work together.
Reviews, monitors and approves employee’s PTO requests and web time sheets in a timely manner.

Other Duties:

Attends and participates in monthly supervisor meetings,
Attends and participates in agency staff meetings, special events, etc.
Attends and participates in department and direct supervisory meetings.
Ability to attend DCAC events as well as third-party events, which may occur in the evening and some weekends.
Completes all agency-related compliance courses.
Other duties as assigned.  

QualificationsEducation and experience:  Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in marketing, communications or agency related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of supervision/leadership experience.

Required Software: Advanced working experience with Adobe Creative Suite,  Vinmeo, Canva, WordPress, Emma and/or other email marketing platforms,

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles, practices and terminology of advertising, marketing and public relations programs.
Knowledge of Google analytics and other performance measures
Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills and the ability to share a portfolio of current and previous work.
Knowledge of AI utilization to create various types of content.
Ability to maximize impact with a limited budget.
Ability to interact with others in ways that demonstrates collaboration and cooperates and builds partnerships with others to achieve organizational results.
Skilled at increasing audience engagement and traffic across all digital platforms creating SEO (search engine optimization) marketing strategies.
Ability to manage staff in ways that improve their ability to succeed on the job.
Ability to promote organizational mission and goals  and shows staff how to achieve them.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive client information.
Ability to think critically ,be a self-starter and work proactively to identify key business priorities and work across teams to implement solutions.
Strong organizational skills, written and communication skills with the ability to listen to others and communicate effectively.
Ability to makes timely, informed decisions that consider the facts, goals, constraints, and risks.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work Location: All work must be performed in the office. Consideration to work one (1) day remotely will be reviewed after six (6) months of employment with DCAC.

Mental and Physical Abilities: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs.). 

Working Conditions: Work may be performed but is not limited to an office environment.
