Job Description
The APAC Benefits Strategy Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing global benefits programs—including health and wellbeing, retirement, life, disability, absence, and other perks. The successful candidate will act as the strategic point of contact for benefits globally (~10 countries), managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with diverse local regulations, and partnering with internal stakeholders to support DayOne’s growth and evolving workforce needs.
Responsibilities
Benefits Strategy & Design
• Lead the design and optimization of employee benefits and wellbeing programs globally
• Align benefits strategy with global Total Rewards objectives and local market practices.
• Utilize benchmarking, regulatory insights, and employee feedback to recommend new offerings and enhancements.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to HR and leadership on benefits, market trends, and innovations.
Program & Vendor Management
• Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and other service providers.
• Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and service delivery oversight to ensure high-quality and cost-effective offerings.
• Conduct routine vendor audits and performance evaluations.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation
• Ensure all programs comply with local benefits laws and regulations across APAC (e.g., CPF in Singapore, EPF in Malaysia, statutory leave entitlements across multiple jurisdictions).
• Partner with Legal, Finance, and internal compliance teams to proactively manage risk and ensure audit readiness.
• Monitor and respond to complex and fast-evolving regulatory changes impacting benefits in the region.
Communication & Change Management
• Lead communications for benefit changes, open enrollment, and ongoing education initiatives.
• Develop content that clearly conveys value, eligibility, and processes to employees and HR partners.
• Train HR on benefits policies and escalation processes.
Data & Analytics
• Analyze utilization trends, cost drivers, and employee sentiment to inform data-driven decisions.
• Report key insights and recommendations to the Total Rewards Director, CHRO and leadership.
• Track and manage the global benefits budget in collaboration with Finance.
Global Collaboration
• Support global initiatives including wellbeing campaigns, recognition programs, M&A integration, and Workday enhancements.
• Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and employee-centric design.
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• CEBS, IFEBP Global Certification, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Experience
• 4–8+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits within a multinational or matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated experience designing and managing benefits programs across multiple countries globally.
• Proven ability to manage vendors and complex benefit delivery models across diverse regulatory environments.
• Strong knowledge of global compliance requirements and statutory benefits frameworks.
