About the opportunity 

The Senior Manager, US Accounting will lead the US accounting function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role combines hands-on technical accounting leadership with people management and cross-functional collaboration across Finance, including Corporate Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Trust & Treasury. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong operational accounting expertise, audit coordination experience, and the ability to develop and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, public/private company environment.

What you'll get to do

  • Accounting Operations & Close
    • Oversee and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and treasury-related transactions, including wires and intercompany activity.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals, including labor, open invoice, legal reserve, and other balance sheet-related accruals.
    • Perform and review balance sheet analysis and monthly/quarterly close deliverables.
    • Prepare and review quarter-end schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Governance, Controls & Audit
    • Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests.
    • Complete quarterly control certifications and support SOX-related activities.
    • Review system access and segregation-of-duties controls.
    • Support AuditBoard activities, including saved search updates and control documentation.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Serve as a key accounting stakeholder for NetSuite, including access reviews, chart of accounts changes, and upgrade testing coordination.
    • Support reporting requirements and periodic updates, including bank and treasury-related reporting files.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Corporate Reporting on monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with FP&A on accounting support for forecasting, analysis, and business inquiries.
    • Work with Trust & Treasury on cash activity, intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations, and treasury reporting.
    • Respond to accounting inquiries from Legal, Financial Analysts, and other internal stakeholders.
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of US-based accounting professionals.
    • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career development.
    • Manage workload planning, prioritization, and performance to ensure timely delivery of results.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and continuous-improvement-oriented team culture.

Skills and experience we value

  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or people-management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close, balance sheet accounting, and audit support.
  • Experience working in a public company and/or technology or SaaS environment preferred.
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred; OneStream experience is an asset.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across Finance and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
