Our KidStart Program has provided vital services to Arc GLOW’s youngest population and their families for over 45 years. Programs within KidStart include Early Intervention, Preschool Special Education, Head Start, and Evaluation. KidStart is dedicated to providing a healthy, nurturing environment where all children can grow and function at their individual best. Head Start Teachers help nurture this success by developing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula for preschool children. WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?
- Fostering a positive learning environment in which the children can acquire health self-image guiding them toward independence.
- Developing and implementing appropriate curricula for preschool children under the supervision of an Education Coordinator.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and program components
- Interacting with children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Participate in planning sessions to create writing activity schedules that meet the group and individual needs of enrolled children.
- Foster a positive learning environment where children can acquire healthy self-images guiding them toward independence.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR HEAD START TEACHERS:
- A bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education; or a bachelor’s or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
- Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record
