The Underwriting Performance Assistant provides essential administrative, data and coordination support to the Underwriting Performance Management team. Working closely with the Underwriting Performance Analyst and Senior Analyst, the role contributes to the smooth delivery of regulatory reporting, internal performance monitoring, and business planning activities for Asta’s managed clients. This role is integral to ensuring data accuracy, timely submissions, and effective workflow across the underwriting performance process. It also offers a strong foundation for developing technical and analytical skills within the Lloyd’s market, supporting future progression within the Underwriting Performance function.


Key Responsibilities

  • To support the Underwriting Performance team by gathering, preparing and checking data, maintaining documentation and logs; supporting the production of reporting packs; and coordinating routine information exchanges with clients and internal teams. 
  • Assist in the production of relevant MI as required, notably for board reporting purposes. Extract and manipulate data from relevant data warehouses and format into new reports.
  • Liaise with Asta clients for operational and analytical requests from Asta clients and Lloyd's within the portfolios. Support relationship management with Lloyd’s by preparing materials, tracking queries, and providing background analysis ahead of meetings.
  • Assist the team with business planning process, completing templates ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with the production of regulatory reporting for Lloyd’s syndicates. Liaise with the clients and provide accurate and appropriate data as requested within agreed deadline.
  • Inputting data into Asta and Lloyd’s systems in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve analytical and technical skills (Excel, data tools, Lloyd’s systems) to enhance team contributions.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A demonstrated interest in insurance accompanied by a commitment to expanding expertise in underwriting performance.
  • A keen interest in gaining insight into the operations of Lloyd’s within the market and its role as part of a managing agency.
  • IT literate; Excel skills a requisite, with a natural ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning.
