What's in Store
We are on the lookout for a Client Accounting Manager (Shared Services) to join our team! As the Client Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial management and accounting services to Davies’ client base. This position is responsible for leading a team of eight accounting coordinators while overseeing core accounting, payroll, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting functions. The role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and client-facing communication, serving as a trusted financial advisor to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Payroll: Oversee payroll, premium billing, vendor management, administrative checks, and year-end close in coordination with auditors and state filings
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze budget-to-actual performance
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure timely state filings, statutory reports, and provide ongoing support to auditors and regulators
- Cash & Treasury Management: Forecast and manage cash flow, oversee transfers, and maintain fiduciary control of banking access
- General Ledger Oversight: Maintain Sage accounting system, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reinsurance/premium adjustments
- Operational Support: Review/approve administrative transactions, coordinate payroll/benefits/tax filings, and support process
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- CPA and prior industry experience preferred, not required
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and statutory reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financials for boards and clients
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage accounting systems preferred
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information
- Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, risk pools, or related industries a plus
