SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant participates in the monthly close process for DASCO Home Medical Equipment, LLC and subsidiaries. This individual will be required to complete daily objectives, projects, initiatives, and frequently interact with business partners. The position will have various day-to-day operations and month-end and year-end close responsibilities, as well as ad hoc projects and process improvements as necessary. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will not have direct reports.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the accurate and timely monthly close of DASCO and its related entities. This includes preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other recurring accounting tasks.
  • Generate ad hoc reporting and identify potential process improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for revenue accounting entries, reserves, and accruals as well as various cost of goods sold accounting entries
  • Must have a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Supports other responsibilities assigned as needed for financial close and reporting



Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:


  • Present excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Comfortable communicating with multiple business partners in various departments
  • Ability to multi-task several projects and initiatives in a growing business environment
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend, and implement solutions to improve operations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment going into the corporate office two days per month
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision to determine and develop approaches and solutions to problems
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Intermediate+ level skill in Microsoft Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables)


Qualifications Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience utilizing generally accepted accounting principles


Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting


Preferred Qualifications:


  • CPA a plus
  • Public accounting experience a plus

There is little to no travel required for the role of Senior Accountant.
