About this role

Overview

The Department of Rehab Medicine seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our academic hospital setting. Be a part of a large rehab team in a leading healthcare facility, and assist patients in developing, improving, and recovering the necessary skills needed to perform their daily activities after surgery, illness, or injury. Serving the admitted patients of the hospital, our acute care rehab team covers pediatrics to geriatrics and supports numerous service lines. Prior experience is preferred, but all are encouraged to apply.

Full-time position with great benefits, including: Continuing education funds, multiple education opportunities throughout the organization, and a large rehab team with numerous opportunities for mentorship and exposure to numerous care environments.

Responsibilities

  • Examines, evaluates, determines prognosis, and provides intervention. Reports findings to other health care team members.
  • Provides discharge recommendations, exercise programs, and family teaching.
  • Participates in and supports departmental programs such as in-service education, student programs, volunteer/observation programs, Professional Practice Committee, etc.
  • Provides documentation, billing, and record keeping. Participates in compliance audits.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of patients and meetings.
  • Delegates tasks to support personnel.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    • Licensed Occupational Therapist with NH eligibility
    • BLS certification required
    • Certified Occupational Therapist (OTR) required at hire, renewal optional.
