Dartmouth Health (DH) is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon for Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD), a critical access hospital located in Lebanon, NH, which is located in the scenic, rural Upper Valley of New Hampshire with close ties to the Dartmouth community. The ability to do laparoscopic procedures, screening colonoscopies and upper endoscopies is desired.  New graduates and experienced surgeons are both encouraged to apply.  Weekend call for emergencies and for established patients is shared with a group of Community Surgeons with a cadence of 1 in 8 weekends on average.

Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD), a member of the Dartmouth Health system, cares for more than 20,000 patients per year, with 1,400 inpatient discharges and 13,000 ED visits per year.  Our inpatient facility is staffed by DHMC emergency physicians and hospitalists, and our outpatient facilities, including our Multispecialty Clinic Express Care, provide services in Family Medicine, General Surgery, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Pain, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, Occupational Health, Radiology, Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, and Women’s Care, with additional telehealth services that include teleneurology and telepsychiatry. It is the mission of APD to improve the health and wellbeing of our community, and the hospital is committed to the system vision of creating a sustainable health system to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve for generations to come. APD  also includes a 77-bed assisted living facility (Harvest Hill) on its campus and a 66-unit independent living facility (The Woodlands) which both represent APD’s commitment to serving seniors in our community.

Required Licensure/Certifications

    • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery. Candidates must have completed or will soon complete training in General Surgery in an ACGME-accredited residency
    • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the state of New Hampshire
