Job Description: Injurious Affection Claims Handler

Role Summary: The Injurious Affection Claims Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of a caseload of complex injurious affections claims from initial inquiry to resolution.

Key responsibilities

o Assess the validity of claims by completing desktop valuations and gather all supporting evidence

o Conduct site investigations where necessary

o Determine the value of claims and recommend settlement offer to the client

o Proactively engage in settlement negotiations with claimants and their representatives

o Act as the primary point of contact for claimants, representatives and the client

o Ensure all claim processes adhere to internal processes and client policies

o Ensure key milestones are met in a timely manner

o Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to the client

o Lead on virtual and in person client meetings

o Be responsible for the management and engagement of the team

o Identify trend and risk issues arising from the workstream, implement action plans to resolve

o Identify efficiencies to improve the commercials of the workstream

o Be responsible for the financial management of the workstream, having a positive contribution to the business plan

o Conducting quality reviews of claim handlers work and advising on technical queries

Skills and experience

o Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with distressed or aggrieved claimants in a professional manner.

o Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage high volumes and competing deadlines.

o Previous experience with Injurious affection would be a benefit but not crucial for the right candidate
