About this role

Position Description:

The Panel Build Technician is primarily responsible for the wiring of electrical panels built by Daedalus Industrial. The Panel Build Technician will work closely with the project team to assemble and wire panels while meeting the customers schedule and the budget as designated by Daedalus Industrial.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Panel Build Technician will be responsible for cutting holes in enclosures per drawings and/or sketch's, mounting and wiring electrical components per the information available. The Panel Build Technician will be required to meet budgets and schedules set forth by Daedalus Industrial. Inspection of panels, testing, and preparing them for shipment will also be a major role of the Panel Build Technician.

Essential Functions:

  • Layout panels/enclosures following wiring diagrams, schematics and pictures
  • Mounting of components onto panels or into enclosures
  • Wire control panels per schematics and specifications
  • Read and understand wiring from a panel/electrical schematic
  • Working knowledge of UL508a, UL698, and NEC standards for panel building

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The Panel Build Technician will be required to interpret electrical schematics and/or information in the wiring of the panels. The Panel Build technician will be required to use basic shop tools and practices to perform their day-to-day activities.

 

Education and/or Training Required:

A High School Education or GED or related work experience and technical capability is required for this position.

 

Primary Working Relationships:

The Panel Build Technician will work very closely with other panel technicians, electrical technicians, engineers, and others in their assigned work areas.

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. The employee may also be required to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently. The employee is subject to a normal office and shop environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.

 

Additional Notes:

The employee will be required to possess the normal requirements for reading written instructions and blueprints. The employee will meet the normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
