About this role

We are looking for a Resident Engineer for our  Lead Design Engineering/Lead Design Department in Solihull.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate on prototype build events with: creates LOPs and is responsible for solving of the issues together with the international development engineering team (Germany, Hungary, Romania);
  • Is responsible for managing the customer relationship on-site;
  • Participates in general meetings and coordination meetings with Development, Quality, Change Management, Process Engineers, customer, suppliers when requested and organizes meetings/ trials (including tools, engineering parts – IP and CFC) with all above for feasibility, process and design check;
  • Create meeting protocols and prepare information from coordination meetings with the customer for combining with customer requirements;
  • Support product development for foreign plant sites (Romania and Hungary) by coordinating with sub-project leaders as part of project development;
  • Cooperate in creating concepts (Analysing 3D concepts with Development Team (DT) from rework feasibility at Solihull site, CAD analysing for root cause or/ and searching for a new solutions independently from CAD team, sharing own ideas with DT, justification and feasibility checkin coordination with the involved areas;
  • Is involved in rework processes: Reworking parts according to DT instructions, drawings, general concepts and/ or own ideas; Defining rework methodology, tools selection, place; Creating rework instructions and provide training; Implementing rework in production process; Evaluation and controlling new process; Rework Improvements: defining, updating documentation, providing training, implementing, evaluation, controlling.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Engineering University Degree with experience in Design Engineering, Production or Quality Departments;
  • Automotive experience is preferred with knowledge of interior parts production and injection molding;
  • Quality tools knowhow: cause analyses with ‘Ishikawa’/ ‘5 why’ tools, 8D report;
  • Very good knowledge of English (essential), Romanian or Hungarian language knowledge is considered an advantage;
  • 3D modeling software or 3D view tools knowledge;
  • Good communication and customer orientation skills, conflict management, flexibility, problem solving and analytical skills.
