Objective of job.
Advise the operational management on industrial/professional/environmental/fire safety and fire protection matters, as well as supervise and implement the relevant measures and ensure compliance.
Principle activities
- Identify and supervise compliance with legal requirements and Nicaraguan regulations applicable to the company in terms of Health, Safety and Environment.
- Manage before the Governmental Dependencies the procedures and processes in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety matters.
- Supervise the training of the company's emergency brigades, as well as provide support in the activities inherent to a major emergency.
- Participate in the investigation of accidents and keep the database updated.
- Supervise the administration of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste warehouses; and supervise hazardous and non-hazardous waste departures, as well as material departures.
- Conduct on-site audits of hazardous and non-hazardous waste collectors.
- Preparation of environmental reports (COA, semiannual non-hazardous waste report).
- Participate in monthly Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management System follow-up meetings.
- Manage and participate in company projects reviewing Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety issues (e.g. LOTO, recycling quota, accident reduction).
Job requirements
- Industrial Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Degree in Safety and Hygiene
- Work experience General supervisor & personnel management, EHS KPIs, Legal knowledge of EHS and ISO 14001 & 45001
- Technical Knowledge ISO14001/ISO 45001, EHS-KPI's Database Management, Analysis of environmental aspects and impacts, Analysis of occupational safety risks, EHS Legal Requirements, Property Security, Fire protection systems, Legal requirements database: Enhesa, Accident database, Database of environmental KPI's
- Advanced Level of English, Overall/ Process Oriented Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Goal Orientation, Economic thinking, Leadership.
