**We offer a $3.00 shift differential for 2nd shift and a $5.00 shift differential for 3rd shift.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Certified Nurse Aide provides personal care and non‑personal care assistance to residents when there is a need. Assists residents so that independent living can be maintained for as long as appropriate and possible. Promotes independent living activities while giving assistance to a resident.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
1. Takes vital signs as indicated.
2. Changes beds, gives showers or baths and assists with dressing.
3. Assists with escorts to the dining room, beauty shop, physical therapy, activities, etc.
4. Makes daily rounds to ill residents.
5. Keeps Supervisor informed of residents’ status.
6. Responds to all “Call for Aide” made to the Health Center.
Other Duties:
1. Assists in monitoring medication compliance.
2. Assists the resident with tray service.
3. Assists with ongoing assessment of residents’ needs to promote independence.
4. Maintains accurate records of observations and services rendered to residents.
5. Assists the resident in making doctor’s appointments.
6. Attends weekly update meeting and Health Committee meetings.
7. Assists in counseling residents and/or families.
8. Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.
9. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively with residents, family and staff, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
2. CNA with good assessment skills.
3. Must be able to transfer residents weighing 50 pounds or more using a transfer belt, mechanical lift or with the assistance of others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to walk long distances at a rapid pace; must be able to assist in the bathing and dressing of residents with disabilities; must be able to push a wheelchair with residents weighing up to 200 lbs independently; continuous standing, turning, stooping, bending, stretching and lifting up to 95% of the work day in order to assist residents, move equipment and perform other related tasks using proper body mechanics; good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required. May be exposed to communicable diseases, and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors.'
