Position Summary


Serves as a senior operational leader responsible for driving excellence in security and engineering operations across the enterprise. This role leads workforce management, productivity, process optimization, and analytics-driven business insights, ensuring secure development practices and business objectives are achieved. The position also applies deep technical expertise in support of operational goals, enabling effective security tooling and technical problem-solving as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Operational Leadership
    • Lead security and engineering operations across the organization, aligning teams and processes with business and security objectives.
    • Oversee workforce management—including contingent labor, headcount tracking, and capacity planning—to meet operational goals.
    • Optimize productivity, streamline workflows, pivot operational strategies as needed, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making.

  • Financial, Planning, and Analytical Support
    • Provide analytical insights into tool adoption, remediation velocity, developer experience friction points, and resourcing needs.
    • Support long-range planning by identifying engineering investments required to improve security posture and operational capability.

  • Business Insights Through Data and Analytics
    • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights that support proactive, evidence-based decision-making.
    • Enable leadership visibility into risk posture and program effectiveness through strong analytical storytelling.

  • Strategy & Communications Management
    • Serve as a senior communicator who can simplify complex technical concepts for leadership and engineering stakeholders.
    • Develop clear, concise narrative materials and presentations to support strategic alignment, executive reporting, and program acceleration.

  • Metrics, Reporting, and Executive Communication
    • Develop and track KPIs, operational metrics, and headcount to inform strategic decisions and support business cases.
    • Deliver executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and reports on operational performance, security posture, and workforce status.

  • People and Relationship Management
    • Manage, mentor, and develop both permanent and contingent staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Build strong partnerships with engineering, platform, and business stakeholders to drive program adoption and operational alignment.

  • Technical Support for Operations
    • Apply technical expertise to support secure development practices, resolve complex engineering challenges, and enable adoption of security tooling.
    • Lead or advise on the implementation of automation, process improvements, and quality standards for secure development.

  • Risk Management and Governance
    • Identify and address operational, technical, and workforce risks in a timely manner.
    • Ensure governance and compliance standards are met for secure development operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technology operations, strategy, and/or engineering within a Product, Cybersecurity, or Development context
  • 3+ years of direct experience with the SDLC including but not limited to SAST, DAST, MAST, Scanning, Automation, Containers, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with data-driven, analytical, and communication skills, including executive reporting and strategic storytelling.
  • 2+ years of experience with people management, contingent workforce oversight, and headcount tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience with improving the Developer Experience including tooling implementation, automation, data and reporting, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-scale operational initiatives and deliver measurable improvements.
  • High level executive presentation and stakeholder management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $284,280.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
