1.2. Reporting Relationships
This role will report to Estate Manager
1. Position Overview
The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day engineering operations of the township, ensuring uninterrupted functioning of all MEP systems, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and vendor coordination. This role ensures high service delivery standards and immediate response to technical issues during the assigned shift.
2. Key Responsibilities
- A. Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor, operate, and maintain all Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems including HVAC, LT panels, DG sets, pumps, STP/ WTP, fire systems, elevators, lighting, etc.
- Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and record performance of all plant & machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- B. Shift Management
- Manage and supervise technicians during the shift.
- Ensure accurate shift handover logs and documentation.
- Monitor energy consumption and suggest efficiency improvement initiatives.
- C. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Supervise vendor activities and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Verify and document work completion for maintenance tasks and AMC services.
- D. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety protocols, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Support emergency preparedness, fire drills, and incident reporting.
- E. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily reports, checklists, breakdown logs, and utility consumption records.
- Report major incidents/equipment failures to the Estate Manager immediately.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in residential townships, commercial buildings, or large facilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems and maintenance practices.
- Hands-on experience with BMS operations (preferred).
4. Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Understanding safety procedures and statutory compliance.
- Leadership abilities to manage technicians.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies.
