Quality Assurance Engineer

CW-EPD’s products are highly engineered water pumps for naval vessels!

An understanding of basic principles of mechanical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing will serve you well in this role, whether through formal education or previous experience.

In this role, you will play a critical role in the Quality Assurance organization to ensure both customer and company quality requirements are met.

You will apply quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with customer contractual requirements. You will review and evaluate complex in-process rejections and facilitates corrective action, as needed. You will interface with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.

Location: Bethlehem, PA

Salary: $76,200 to $93,000

Your Challenge

  • Develop quality assurance data packages for customer review.

  • Review and approve bills of material and purchase requisitions related to assigned projects. Prepare and provide detailed quality assurance inputs to such documents.

  • Review component certifications to ensure full compliance with purchase order requirements.

  • Review and evaluate contractual requirements in specifications and drawings with specific attention to quality requirements.

  • Ensure 100% quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility.

  • Provide subject matter expertise while interacting with internal and external customers as well as suppliers by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and resolving issues as they may arise.

  • Review, evaluate, and answer customer correspondence.

  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of quality manual and related procedures.

  • Review and evaluate in-process rejections, obtain responses, evaluate root causes, and implement corrective action when needed.

  • Identify potential project quality issues.

  • Perform internal audits.

What You Bring

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated strong attention to details.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015.

  • Audit experience.

  • Basic engineering & materials science principles.

  • Previous experience working in a Manufacturing environment.

  • Nuclear Navy or Nuclear Power Industry experience is an asset.

  • Familiarity with rotating machinery.

  • Regulated Industries (e.g., food, aerospace, transportation, biotech).
