Material Handler – Program Support

We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-focused Material Handler – Program Support to manage material flow for a major strategic program. You will be responsible for coordinating the receipt, staging, movement, tracking, packaging, and final outbound preparation of material associated with the program. The ideal candidate understands shop floor logistics, thrives in a manufacturing environment, and can drive progress across multiple departments while maintaining accuracy, traceability, and schedule integrity.

This role will serve as the internal point-of-contact for material status, routing, and bottleneck resolution within the program. When program workload allows, this position also supports general warehouse tasks such as receiving, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy initiatives.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Location: Middleburg Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area)

Salary/hourly rate:  $15.77 - $20.00

Hours: 1st shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Your Challenge:

  • Identify and route inbound material associated with the customer program; verify receipts against purchase orders.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure required PO documentation and material status information are available.

  • Manage material flow through inspection, OSP, production, quality, and outbound routing steps.

  • Issue material to jobs, pick lists, and staging locations while maintaining accurate ERP location control.

  • Run Nova ship lists daily, including two-week look-ahead views, to identify and resolve potential delays or bottlenecks.

  • Track order progress through each routing step; communicate ETAs, risks, and shortages to Purchasing, Operations, and other stakeholders.

  • Update scheduled ship dates and enter notes in the ship list when workflow delays require adjustments.

  • Assist with preparing, crate, label, and stage finished products for outbound shipment.

  • Coordinate shipping method and carrier requirements with the Shipping department; verify accuracy prior to release.

  • Maintain designated storage zones for program material and ensure traceability, serialization, and lot control.

  • Support cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, receiving, and warehouse operations as workload allows.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Provide backup support for the Receiving Clerk during absences or as workload allows.

  • Process requests for pulls and assembly kits related to outbound orders.

  • Support general warehouse tasks and team members as needed.

  • Verifying product quantities, lot numbers, and storage locations with precision.

  • Managing competing priorities during high-volume periods.

  • Maintaining accurate data entry under tight deadlines

Your Expertise:

  • 2–3 years of material handling, logistics, warehouse, or production support experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience working with ERP systems for material moves, issuance, and location control; Oracle is a plus.

  • Familiarity with routers, pick lists, purchase orders, and traceability requirements.

  • Comfortable communication across departments and driving progress without direct authority.

  • Strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through skills.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate forklifts and pallet jacks (or obtain certification).

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly with team members and other departments.

  • Physical ability to perform material handling tasks including lifting, staging, and movement.
