Job Summary

This product-focused leadership role is responsible for developing and tailoring electronic and electrical (E&E) systems for Cummins products. The role translates product and customer requirements into hardware and software technical requirements that control the operation of Cummins products across a wide range of applications. The position also owns system configuration (tuning/calibration) and comprehensive validation testing of fully integrated hardware and software systems to ensure performance, quality, and reliability

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate electronic application and system-level issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend corrective actions, and own problem resolution with appropriate documentation.
  • Create, manage, improve, and apply electronic application and system development processes and tools, including system specification, modeling and simulation, calibration, DVP&R, troubleshooting, and product lifecycle maintenance.
  • Apply simulation, calibration, and diagnostic tools to support development, validation, and sustainment activities.
  • Collaborate with customers, product teams, technical experts, manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to inform decisions and deliver high-quality products.
  • Make decisions related to electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing that impact the quality and performance of subsystems and system features.
  • Review work completed by less-experienced developers and testers to ensure designs are robust, reusable, and efficient.
  • Apply systems expertise to manage cross–business unit integration and coordination of calibrated system builds.
  • Execute established and emerging work processes independently while continuing to build product and technology knowledge.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex system-level issues with high ambiguity and potential global business impact.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of processes and systems across functions or business units.
  • Coordinate and direct the work of technical project teams, including direct leadership of small to mid-sized teams when required.
  • Operate as a recognized multi-competency technical expert across a site or global business unit.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers, project managers, and cross-functional team members to build future technical capability.

Participate in academic or industry collaboration related to the discipline or technical domain, as applicable
