Job Details:

We are looking for 10+ year professional who is highly skilled Senior System Application Engineer to support and enhance our global security posture.

This role focuses mainly providing Application support based on middle ware technologies and to address vulnerability remediation across infrastructure, applications, and databases.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure, Wintel, Java application support, and SQL databases, and will work closely with global teams to ensure security compliance and operational excellence.
As part of the Global Operations Systems Team, reporting to the IT Systems Team Leader, you will be a key liaison, working closely with colleagues and customers to ensure in-house or deployed systems and devices are kept current and functional. 
You will be involved in implementing strategies for Central System and Device application deployment, manage application installations and configuration.
As part of your role and responsibilities you are accountable to administer Central System on cross platform Operating Systems such as Windows, AIX, UNIX, LINUX in close coordination with the Infrastructure and Engineering groups. 
You will ensure Central System applications and Device application migrations, upgrades and installations are well rehearsed and documented prior to conducting official installations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects and/or workstreams, providing technical leadership, ensuring the required quality standards and milestones are met.
• Work collaboratively with local and remote stakeholders including management, technology architects and technology staff with the lifecycle of operational security compliance, from design and development, through to implementation and maintenance.
• Owning end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build best practices to prevent problem recurrence.
• Provide technical guidance to change and delivery teams for transition of vulnerability remediation into live production.
• Perform vulnerability remediation across infrastructure, applications, and databases.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Support and maintain secure operations in Azure and Wintel environments.
• Provide application-level support for Java-based systems and SQL databases.
• Collaborate with global teams to align with security standards and best practices.
• Provide support with industry standard audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards and internal security policies.
• Maintain documentation and reports related to security operations and remediation efforts.
• Contribute to future hardware & software planning.

Perform day-to-day application administration.

• Monitors and manages application and infrastructure health.
• Manages and controls application software licenses.
• Installs and upgrades all applications across on-premises and Cloud platforms.
• Troubleshooting issues with containerized applications running on Docker or Kubernetes
• Application deployments using manual methods and automation tools
• Maintains secure applications.
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Operations teams, Test teams, Developers and Clients in relation to supporting application deployments and changes.  Responsible for effective deployments into the live and non-production ensuring impact to operational service is minimized.
• Provides sign off on various release gateways.
• Provides guidance and recommendations on all backend OS’s and infrastructure in relation to application function and performance.
• Provides assistance with Windows, UNIX, LINUX based platforms in relation to application function and performance.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, or Minimum 10+ years of experience in Application Support Operations or related technical roles.
• Experience supporting Java applications and SQL databases.
• Proven track record in vulnerability management and remediation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Skills knowledge and experience Essentials: 

• Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining applications based on Middle Ware technologies, both third party COTS (Apache Kafka, Zookeeper, Apache Storm, Apigee) and internally developed.
• (5) + years as an SRE, DevOps, or related role managing large-scale solutions or platforms
• Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Go, Bash) and solid understanding of coding/development principles
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experienced with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools
• Core understanding of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Knowledge and experience administrating various Windows and UNIX Operating Systems, including bash scripting. Knowledge of databases, including SQL Server and Oracle.
• Knowledge of SQL in general.  
• In depth understanding of System Administration/Analyst methodology and principles.
• Cloud Services : Need to have hands on experience with any one cloud technologies ( Azure / AWS / GCP )
• Monitoring tools : Good have expertise in Monitoring tools ( Solar Winds / App Dynamics / Azure Monitoring services / Cloud Watch ) etc.
• Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code tools

• Experience mentoring teams and fostering a strong reliability culture across the organization
