Job Summary:

This is an important role in delivering Cubic’s services to our customers. The main function of the role is to develop new software and systems for enabling efficient and consistent delivery of Basedata with a high degree of accuracy.

We are looking for a .Net Lead developer to build software using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. This role involves creating applications from scratch, configure existing systems and provide user support.

In this role, you should be able to write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects. You should be a team player and excellent communicator. If you are also passionate about the .NET framework and software design/architecture, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to work with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software.

The Lead developer may manage a small team, and they are responsible for the close supervision of that team. They may develop a technical relationship with clients and provide their expertise in support of client requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using .NET Core and React.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, project timelines, and deliverables.
• Take ownership of software architecture decisions and contribute to system design discussions.
• Ensure the team's code meets high standards for performance, reliability, and security.
• Act as the primary point of contact for development-related issues, roadblocks, and technical guidance.
• Implement and promote Agile best practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and task estimation.
• Architect and implement secure, scalable solutions using Azure services
• Coordinate with other software professionals and developers within Cubic

• Follow Cubic change control procedures when making changes to any production affecting element or system, configuration item, document or contractual obligation.
• Attend off site customer and project meetings, independent test witnessing, and installations as required

Leadership

• Mentor a team of software developers through daily development activities and code reviews.
• Ensure the team's code meets high standards for performance, reliability, and security.
• Provide a clear account of team activities and progress to their line management.
• Liaise with stakeholders to evaluate and understand the requirements of projects and service requirements, resolving or escalating issues as they arise.
• Review and provide feedback on the work of other team members and be open to review of your own work by peers.
• Mentor colleagues in the early stage of their career and ensuring that they are presented with the right opportunities to develop the career and capabilities.

• Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
• Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications

Essential:

• Computer Science/Engineering degree or a related field
• Commercial software development experience

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

• Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET, C#, and React.js.
• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns
• Solid understanding of T-SQL and SQL design principles
• Experience in writing complex T-SQL queries which includes implement procedures and functions.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools i.e., SmartGit,
• Proven software development experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with the customer’s principles
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Good written communication skills
