Crowe MacKay LLP is excited to grow our team and is currently seeking a Manager, IT Specialist to join our Technology & Digital Consulting team. We are a dynamic group working in a fast-paced environment looking for someone that is career-focused, and excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm.

 

The Manager, IT Specialist is responsible for leading and executing technology‑focused audit and assurance work across financial audits, cybersecurity engagements, and SOC reporting. This role provides expertise in IT General Controls (ITGC), evaluates the effectiveness of clients’ technology environments, and supports the delivery of high‑quality risk, governance, and compliance services. The position is based in Vancouver and works closely with cross‑functional teams, partners, and client stakeholders.



The Role

  • Work alongside all client-service teams for our various service lines in our 8 markets, spanning across 4 jurisdictions (AB, BC, NWT, and YT).
  • Lead and perform ITGC testing in support of financial statement audits (e.g. CAS 315), including access management, change management, IT operations, and automated controls.
  • Plan, execute, and report on cybersecurity assessments, maturity reviews, and technology risk evaluations.
  • Manage SOC 1 and SOC 2 examination procedures, including control walkthroughs, design and operating‑effectiveness testing, and reporting.
  • Identify control deficiencies, assess risk implications, and develop practical remediation recommendations.
  • Oversee engagement teams, review workpapers, ensure quality standards, and support project management across multiple clients.
  • Collaborate with audit and advisory teams to integrate IT risk considerations into broader engagement strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering clear, concise, and professional communication.
  • Support practice development activities, including methodology enhancement, team coaching, and technical training.
  • Various duties as related and required for the success of the Technology & Digital Consulting team.


What You Will Bring

  • 5–8+ years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, SOC reporting, or technology risk advisory.
  • Strong understanding of ITGC frameworks, cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001), SOC reporting standards, and cloud environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CPA are considered assets.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast‑paced, professional‑services environment.
