Job Summary:
The Team Leader will provide guidance, instruction and direction to employees working on the production line. The Team Leader monitors daily production and employee performance, to achieve daily production goals while maintaining a high level of quality. The Team Lead will be required to complete daily standard work forms and other duties as required.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Verify all raw materials at line for accuracy and condition. Includes the verification of quantity, locator tickets and lot codes. Accuracy of information is critical. Perform and document inventory at the line.
- Perform head count and document all employees at line.
- Notify super team lead/assistant supervisor of material shortages, quality issues, or any quality related issues.
- Maintain cleanliness of line at all times.
- Understand different Waste Streams.
- Ensure employee safety at line, any unsafe conditions need to be reported to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain assigned reports. Accuracy of all paperwork is mandatory.
- Monitor the performance of the line to meet standards while maintaining quality.
- Train all employees on tasks as needed.
- Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork.
- Attend selected meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Average math skills and proven ability to perform tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret company documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
- Participate in company GMP walks
- Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
- This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements:
- Operate standard office equipment
- Reach with hands and arms
- Ability to operate industrial equipment and company specific equipment
- Associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds
- Associate must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for the duration of a full shift of work
