Job Description Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Senior Accountant maintains and manages the integrity of financial data for the organization. This position oversees various deadline-driven financial activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, conducts data analyses, and completes timely and accurate data requests. The Senior Accountant collaborates with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, ensure system functionality, support informed decision-making, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes complex monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes within established deadlines.
- Reviews and completes month-end journal entries to ensure proper accounting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Reconciles monthly general ledger accounts, performs comprehensive analyses, and investigates and resolves identified discrepancies.
- Prepares complex financial statements and other financial reports.
- Analyzes contracts, leases, and other agreements for proper accounting management
- Assists with capital asset procurement process and supports the associated accounting procedures.
- Conducts daily bank transaction matching and reconciliations.
- Supports annual and ad hoc financial audit processes.
- Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations.
- Completes other miscellaneous projects and ad hoc assignments as assigned.
- Engages with external contacts/vendors for support as needed.
- Provides guidance and expertise to staff and/or junior team members.
- Prepares and effectively communicates data in both oral and written formats (Email, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to a wide variety of users.
- Assures quality customer service to all business partners.
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
- Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of accounting, finance and/or other related experience; to include experience U.S. GAAP principals and applications.
- Proven experience and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Accounting-related ERP systems experience, including data extraction and transaction research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience with Workday.
- Experience with Power BI.

- Ability to think strategically and display appropriate independent judgement.
- Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Work environment: Hybrid office environment
- Travel: < 5% travel
- 5+ hours per shift: Sitting, finger dexterity, reaching waist to shoulder.
- Up to 3 hours per shift: Standing, walking, bend, squat, kneel, handling, driving, reaching above shoulders, reaching knee to waist, reaching floor to knee, grasping items, push/pull items up to 10 pounds.
