MAJOR FUNCTION:

To organize, direct and control the activities of all production employees to provide finished products to meet schedule, quality and cost requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures raw material availability for daily production in accordance with the production schedule.

2. Assigns, trains, and directs wage employees in the correct production and safety procedures.

3. Completes finished product in the quantity and quality as prescribed in established standards and schedules.

4. Operates in accordance with the provisions of the plant employment handbook and company policy.

5. Reviews and evaluates equipment and work areas to provide an efficient and clean working environment.

6. Approves wage time records and provides daily production records.

7. Oversees daily operation, reviews work progress, implements approved equipment process, material and tooling and standards changes. Takes immediate action to prevent production loss, waste, spoilage, equipment and tooling damage or safety hazards as necessary.

8. Provides technical assistance and general counsel to assigned personnel.

9. Assists Production Manager in developing and recommending means of improving quantity and quality of operations.

10. Promotes company’s safety efforts and maintains a safe working environment.

11. Interface with other departments such as Quality, Engineering and Sales to meet company objectives.

12. Perform other tasks as required.

EDUCATION:

1. High School Diploma

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB:

1. Knowledge of production standards and machinery operation and/or maintenance.

1. Excellent interpersonal communications skills.

2. Punctual, reliable and self-motivated.

3. Leadership skill and decision making ability.

4. Ability to prioritize while juggling many tasks.
