Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. Must have knowledge and experience working with AS9145 and ISO.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers) to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze production data, quality control systems, and critical points in the value stream to identify and address quality issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and drive qualification of product and process changes to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Support audits, failure analysis, and reliability testing, while producing reports on nonconformance, quality trends, and root cause analyses.
  • Review and approve quality-related document changes (ECOs, MCOs, deviations) and implement continuous improvement strategies using data-driven methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: AS9145/APQP knowledge/experience; 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge: Knows and applies advanced concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals; Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Quality, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Lean Principles and Implementation Tools
  • Educational background in Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools
  • Familiarity with Minitab
  • ASQC Quality Engineer Certification

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment
  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Standing: 10% percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: 90% percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 25 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of computer, microscope

Salary range for QE III: $109,000 to $128,300. Salary Range for QE IV: $129,300 - $152,700 Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
