About this role

Cottage Clinical Associates seeks an Advanced Practice Provider, Ambulatory Services for their CCA Primary Care Clinic – Santa Ynez Valley responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients within an Ambulatory Services setting. This is a professional level position working under limited direction yet in coordination with an APP lead. Typical work scenarios require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, good judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Internal contacts include medical staff and management throughout the clinic and health system. 
  • External contacts include patients, physicians, outside medical staff, and community resource services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. 

Education:

  • Minimum:
  1. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, as defined by the California Physician Assistant Board. Master’s degree or certificate from a specialized medical training program associated with a medical school that includes classroom students and clinical experience.
  2. NURSE PRACTITIONER: Master of Nursing Degree. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Minimum:
  1. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT: Valid California license as a Physician Assistant by the Physician Assistant Board; National certification granted after passing the PA National Certifying Exam administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; Valid Drug Enforcement Agency license - DEA Schedule 2-5; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
  2. NURSE PRACTITIONER: Current State of California Registered Nurse license. Current California Licensure and Certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California State Board. Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Nurse Practitioner. California Furnishing License - Controlled Substances II Valid Drug Enforcement Agency license - DEA Schedule 2-5 American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum: Clinical specialty in an adult ambulatory clinic setting. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of Epic. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.

Years of Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum: Two (2) years of experience as a Physician Assistant OR a Nurse Practitioner in an adult ambulatory clinic.
