The Sr Software Engineer - Java is primarily responsible for the support of the existing software applications and enhance software components deployed in the Cotiviti product suite. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate effectively with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • A seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Works on the problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Develops and supports all the ICMS team applications with very little assistance.
  • Contributes to reducing tech debt and software upgrades.
  • Good understanding of all technologies used in PPM.
  • Expert in implementing solutions using technologies currently used by the team's applications with minimal guidance from senior team members.
  • Proactively handles inter-team communication effectively on cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Leads architecture and delivery for small and medium sized features with guidance from Team Lead and Architects. 
  • Quality of code changes meets or exceeds Veracode and SonarQube guidelines.
  • Delivers stories that meet or exceed Stakeholder due dates with high unit test coverage and zero-defect leakage.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience writing software
  • Expertise in 1 programming language
  • Proficiency in 2+ programming languages
  • Able to develop and maintain software in 3+ languages
  • Proficiency in 1+ databases
  • Understand how to create docker files and build containers
  • Proficiency using basics tools like git and project management tools
  • Understanding or more complicated git operations
  • Understanding of dependency management and software versioning
  • Proficiency in CICD methodologies
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and evaluate information objectively, considering different perspectives and potential implications before drawing conclusions or making recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: must have a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Strong numerical skills are essential for conducting quantitative analysis, working with statistical methods and models, and manipulating data using mathematical operations.
  • Data Interpretation: skilled in interpreting data visualizations, charts, graphs, and other forms of data presentation to extract meaningful insights and communicate findings effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are crucial for conveying complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly and understandably through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  • Curiosity and Learning Agility: A strong desire to learn and explore new methodologies, techniques, and tools in the field of data analysis and insights generation is essential for staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Resilience: The ability to handle pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and overcome setbacks is important in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous analytical environment.
  • Ethical and Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and maintaining integrity in handling sensitive data and information is paramount for building trust and credibility in the insights provided

 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $105,000 to $145,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

This role is based remotely and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
