About this role

Essential Function: 

This position is responsible for the analysis of inventory transactions/adjustments and resolution of issues, working cross-functionally and across multiple systems for root cause analysis and remediation; for the preparation of inventory account reconciliations; for the preparation of month-end close journal entries and related duties; internal and external audit support; and special projects and other responsibilities as needed.  

This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Support Center in Plano, TX, (Legacy West)

Primary Duties:
Track, analyze and monitor inventory activity, transactions and adjustments.  Identify unusual adjustments, escalate and pursue resolution, working with different departments and functions.  

 

Take the initiative to propose corrections, track and document all issues, and play a key role in driving root cause analysis and ultimate resolution.

 

Month-end close responsibilities, including pre- and post-close tasks: journal entry preparation, report generation, and other duties as assigned.

 

Preparation of account reconciliations according to company and departmental policy.

 

Provide information to internal and external auditors.

 

Provide assistance in special projects and management requests as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field, preferred
  • Accounting experience resulting in the ability to understand inventory process flows and impact on the general ledger
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Previous experience in month-end close processes
  • Experience within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment desired
  • Working knowledge of and experience with SQL highly desirable
  • Some travel may be required, up to 5%

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements:

  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
  • The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
