Role Overview
The Director of Product & Technology will act as a force multiplier for the CTO—owning day-to-day product and engineering execution, driving roadmap delivery, and ensuring technical decisions align with business goals.
You will work across product, engineering, operations, and client stakeholders to turn requirements into shipped, scalable systems—while helping mature MediDrive’s product and engineering processes.
This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely managerial one.
Key Responsibilities
Product Leadership
- Own and drive delivery of MediDrive’s product roadmap in partnership with the CTO
- Translate client, regulatory, and operational requirements into clear product and technical plans
- Lead backlog prioritization, scoping, and trade-off decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders across operations, compliance, and customer teams
- Ensure features are delivered with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and usability
Technology & Engineering Leadership
- Oversee architecture and delivery of distributed, microservices-based systems
- Guide teams building services in Golang running on Google Cloud Platform
- Ensure best practices around scalability, observability, security, and maintainability
- Review and influence system design, data models, and integration patterns
- Help evolve MediDrive’s platform while balancing speed vs. technical debt
Execution & Process
- Own execution across multiple concurrent initiatives and client commitments
- Improve engineering velocity through better planning, tooling, and process
- Partner with engineering leads on sprint planning, delivery tracking, and risk management
- Use tools like Linear, GitHub, and modern CI/CD workflows to keep teams aligned
- Actively remove blockers before they reach the CTO
People & Collaboration
- Mentor and support senior engineers and product contributors
- Serve as a clear escalation point for technical and product decisions
- Foster strong collaboration between product, engineering, and operations
- Help shape hiring plans and onboard new technical talent as needed
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product, engineering, or technical leadership roles
- Prior experience in NEMT, healthcare transportation, or healthcare logistics
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Experience working closely with engineers on backend systems (hands-on background)
- Proven ability to drive execution across complex, regulated environments
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strongly Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with Golang in production systems
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, especially:
- Cloud Spanner or large-scale relational databases
- GKE / Kubernetes-based deployments
- Experience operating or building microservices at scale
- Hands-on experience with:
- GitHub (PRs, code reviews, CI/CD)
- Kubernetes and containerized workloads
- Experience working with Linear or similar modern product management tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and enterprise collaboration tooling
- Experience building platforms that integrate with third-party systems via APIs
- Exposure to HIPAA-regulated or compliance-heavy environments
