We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician to support medical office building(s) in the Detroit and surrounding areas by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and emergency response—ensuring patients, providers, and staff experience a safe, comfortable environment every day.

Key Responsibilities (Facilities Maintenance / Building Engineer)
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on:

HVAC systems
Electrical systems
Plumbing systems
Lighting and building infrastructure
Respond to comfort calls and make system adjustments
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
Perform weekly and monthly generator load transfers
Perform fire system impairments for testing and construction purposes
Hands-On Building Repairs

Repair or replace:

Ceiling tiles and grid systems
Door hardware and restroom fixtures
Walls, floors, windows, ceilings, and finishes

Perform minor electrical repairs (ballasts, switches, receptacles)
Perform minor plumbing repairs (toilets, urinals, water heaters, faucets)
Maintain office and restroom functionality, including vent cleaning
Safety, Compliance & Inspections

Conduct routine safety and facility inspections
Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

Participate in emergency response procedures
Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms, shops, and storage areas
Operations & Coordination

Order maintenance materials and supplies and pick up items as needed
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records
Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers
Assist with renovations, furniture moves, and facility reconfigurations
Participate in audits, assessments, and on-call rotation as required

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

Experience in Facilities Maintenance, Building Maintenance, or Property Maintenance - at least 1 year
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems efficiently
Experience in medical office buildings, healthcare facilities, or commercial properties (preferred)
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple work orders
Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail
Professional communication skills and customer-service approach

Preferred Certifications (Not Required):

HVAC or EPA certification
Electrical or plumbing experience
CMMS or work-order system experience

Work Environment

This position includes indoor and outdoor work and may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working in mechanical spaces or at heights. Exposure to tools, equipment, weather conditions, and building systems is expected. Safety procedures and proper PPE are always required.
