POSITION SUMMARY: The Practice Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the health center. This position ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality patient care through effective supervision of clinical and administrative support services. The Practice Manager will work closely with clinical leaders, staff, and external partners to maintain compliance, improve patient outcomes, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees daily operations of the health center, including scheduling, staffing, patient flow, and facilities management.
Supervises and supports Medical Assistants, Healthcare Receptionists, and additional clinical and administrative support staff.
Assigns support staff to appropriate units and provides for adequate clinical coverage based on patient and provider need.
Reviews and approves time sheets, leave requests, expenses, and various payroll functions.
Plans and provides training and orientation of staff; assesses training needs and makes recommendations for continued training.
Assists HR and Operations in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of support staff; completes performance evaluations, as appropriate.
Monitors and enhances clinical workflows and scheduling procedures to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with health center policies and regulatory standards.
Reviews and implements quality assurance procedures, Patient Center Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives, and quality improvement projects to maintain a safe and productive clinical practice.
Integrates operations and ensures continuity among departments to promote a team-based care model.
Communicates Cornerstone Care’s organizational goals to provider and clinical teams and ensures operations align with the pillars of our strategic plan and PCMH treatment standards.
Purchases and maintains inventory of medical and office supplies, immunizations, site administered medications, and various testing solutions, and biologics.
Follows all state, private, and federal regulations regarding storage, handling, and
of vaccines, medications, and clinical testing supplies; communicates policy compliance standards to all clinical staff and providers.
Arranges calibration and ordering of various medical equipment
Conducts monthly staff meetings and reports to health center leadership, as appropriate.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting of operational and clinical data; assists in preparing encounter and collection reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
Manages budgets and financial performance, including oversight of billing, collections, purchasing, and inventory. Routinely audits functions for optimal operations.
Addresses patient concerns or complaints and ensures a high level of satisfaction and service quality.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with collaborating organizations such as hospitals, health care providers, funders, and other community organizations.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
Performs bookkeeping and quality control procedures for all on-site labs in conjunction with the lead provider. Completes quarterly proficiency testing as required by various laboratory programs.
Assists in the development and implementation of relevant marketing, outreach, and community education plans.
Participates in appropriate meetings and committees as assigned by Director of Clinical Operations or other senior leaders.
Participates in various clinical and financial audits.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school education or equivalent, required, advanced degree, preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a community health center or similar setting. Prefer Medical Assistant or similar type of experience and/or training.
Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of medical practice operations, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, billing, and regulatory compliance.
Commitment to health equity and serving underserved populations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
