The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for U.S. and international employee populations. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, this role partners closely with HR Operations, Finance, and external payroll vendors to support payroll execution across multiple geographies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll compliance, and the ability to manage payroll in a fast paced, global environment. This position is based in Dallas, Texas and requires on site presence five days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Global Payroll ProcessingProcess end to end payroll for U.S. and international employee groups in accordance with established schedules and procedures.Maintain accurate employee payroll records including compensation, benefits deductions, taxes, and time data.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and identify discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies prior to payroll submission.
  • Process payroll adjustments, off cycle payments, bonuses, retroactive pay, and final pay as required.
  • Compliance & Audits
  • Support compliance with federal, state, local, and country specific payroll regulations.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and internal controls documentation.
  • Participate in year end payroll activities including W 2 preparation and applicable international equivalents.
  • Ensure payroll processing adheres to company policies, data privacy standards, and internal controls.
  • Vendor & Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with global payroll vendors to resolve processing issues, corrections, and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations, Finance, and People Systems teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment between payroll, benefits, and time tracking systems.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, discretion, and timely resolution.
  • Systems & Process Support
  • Maintain payroll system data and support ongoing system updates, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Assist in testing payroll functionality during system upgrades or global expansions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent payroll experience.
  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting multistate or global payroll.
  • Experience working with external payroll vendors across multiple countries preferred.
  • Preferred experience with UKG 

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of U.S. payroll laws and regulations; exposure to international payroll compliance highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with payroll and HR systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a customer service mindset.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while being highly responsive and accurate.
