Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Business Development Director to join the firm as part of our growing Urban, Campus & Cultural team. The Urban, Campus & Cultural team brings together Cooper Robertson’s 45-year legacy in urban design, campus planning, and cultural design with Corgan’s global platform. Recent projects include the University of Maryland Campus Plan, the Princeton University Art Museum, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and urban design plans for Hudson Yards and the Brooklyn waterfront. Work on diverse project types alongside a team of creative, highly motivated professionals who collaborate to deliver outstanding results. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the team’s wide range of work and motivated to take on increasing responsibility to expand their expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and secure new business by identifying and pursuing areas of opportunity and assisting in closing deals
  • Overall coordination and tracking of business development efforts in the Urban, Campus & Cultural Sector
  • Able to successfully identify and establish productive relationships with clients and collaborators
  • Assisting with developing and executing a project pursuit strategy in collaboration with Urban, Campus & Cultural Sector leadership
  • Maintain an extensive network of industry contacts, actively managing appropriate, regular communication with those contacts; facilitates appropriate access to their network of industry contacts, in support of pursuit activities
  • Plan, coordinate and attend local and national industry events and conferences; facilitate high-visibility participation for Urban, Campus & Cultural Sector leadership
  • Assist in managing the Urban, Campus & Cultural Studio Business Development budget
  • Build rapport and develop partnerships with a broad network of professional contacts including collaboration with other business development directors to source leads and build national networking relationships
  • Provide input for proposal responses and the creation of interview presentations

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or master's degree in architecture, planning, business, communications or a related field
  • 5+ years of business development experience in the AEC industry required
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience working with a CRM system to manage all BD efforts and communication of pursuits. Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to favorably represent the firm in the industry
  • Demonstrate high levels of critical thinking skills
  • Confident presentation ability

Base Salary Range: $137,000 - $180,000 annually – New York City locations only.

 

The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in New York City only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. In addition, base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
