Summary:

The Clinical Nutritionist provides nutritional assessment and treatment to patients requiring nutrition therapy within the Genetics Department. This position works in close collaboration with the providers to provide nutrition intervention and education based on the clinical assessment, goals, preferences, learning barriers and readiness of the patient and their family in support of the overall plan of care. The Clinical Nutritionist possesses knowledge and understanding of both typical and atypical pediatric growth and development.

Education and Experience:

  • Registered dietitian with Bachelor's of Science from an accredited college or university

  • 0-2 years of related experience.

  • Strong Mathematic background preferred.

  • Experience teaching/mixing formulas to families preferred.

  • Preferred experience with beside education (Inpatient and Outpatient)

     

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:

  • Current license to practice as a licensed/registered Dietitian by the State of Texas.

  • Current registration with the Commission of Dietetic Registration required.

  • Current BLS certification.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm (some On-Call weekends)

  • Hybrid after training
