ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Manager will apply leadership and innovation as the life force that sustains and enhances our programs. This position will make a difference by ensuring that the delivery of client services for assigned program(s) meet or exceed client needs, funder and regulatory requirements, and annual outcome targets. They inspire excellence and purpose into the program by overseeing planning, organizing, staffing, and monitoring activities that ensure key targets are achieved.

Exempt; Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1700

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures the development of annual outcome measurement plans (identifies goals, measurements and outcomes) and the safety and quality of service delivery of their designated programs.
  • Implements and promulgates all policies and procedures, including developing appropriate manuals, brochures, and handbooks
  • Implements a system of staff and volunteer orientation, supervision, in service training and evaluation
  • Develops related program opportunities, available to the individuals in the community
  • Provides direct reports to interested and affected parties and funders as required. This includes reporting for services, critical incidents reports, service level reporting, and other reporting requirements stated in the contracts.
  • Assesses and resolves operational issues and policies, that might include labor relations that have been escalated from Managers that have the potential for a grievance.
  • Contributes as a member of the senior management team in developing organizational strategic plans.
  • Identifies, approves, implements and/or designates opportunities for continuous quality improvement to our delivery of services.
  • Identifies and implements new programs for assigned area (program and/or region).
  • Ensures that programs and client services meet our organization standards, policies and procedures and funder requirements.
  • Works in collaboration with the Finance team to plan and review monthly financials, provide direct input to the annual budget of their assigned program(s), and to make decisions that support that program within the approved budget.
  • Oversees the daily and monthly financial and administrative aspects of the program
  • Represents the needs of the Connective clients to develop key relationships: participating in community committees, working groups and other community organizations to improve service delivery.
  • Provides direct management, support, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to direct reports and their employees, in addition to performance management.
  • Takes on programs and client services accountabilities as assigned by the Regional Director in their absence.
  • Is a role-model for professional workplace conduct and encourages and fosters a positive workplace environment.
  • Provides communication to the Director, or designate, of any exposure to risk that is presented or could emerge in program and services operations.

 EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. The ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's degree in criminology, social sciences, social work, or other related fields and professional experience in corrections, community living, shelter or residential programming.
  • Seven years of related experience working with vulnerable populations with complex mental health and/or substance use issues in the social services sector including Community Living, Mental Health & Addictions, and Criminal Justice System
  • Three to five years of professional management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently & lead a team cohesively
  • Experience with financial/human resources management, unions, and non-profit management
  • Ability to motivate and organize a staff team
  • Administrative experience and strong administrative skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, conflict management and resolution strategies, as well as a positive work approach

Preference for candidates with knowledge of non-profit work environments, especially in Housing, the Criminal Justice Services and Community Living Services and experience in working with Yukon First Nations. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a TB Screening
  • Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract
  • Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport clients

COMPENSATION

The annual salary range for this position is $90,200 to $112,700, will be based on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for the organization's comprehensive benefits package. The salary range provided represents the total compensation plan for this position. Actual salary placement will be determined based on a variety of factors, including pay equity, market conditions, candidate experience, internal equity, and organizational priorities. Placement within the range is typically at the midpoint.

Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
