Job Description Summary:

Receives, stores, and distributes products within the warehouse by performing essential duties.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receives and disperses product merchandise or point of sale materials in accordance with assigned storage methods and handling procedures.

Safely sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, year of vintage, or product code.

Assembles customer orders from stock based on customer invoice and places orders on pallets or onto conveyor for loading into trucks for delivery. 

Safely operate warehouse material handling equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers.

Prepares split case orders by selecting products from stock based on customer invoice and placing products into shipping containers.

Arranges and rotates product in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Takes inventory of stored product as scheduled by company.

Examine incoming and stored product and report any deterioration and or damage.

May perform quality control function of checker to ensure product being loaded into delivery truck matches customer invoice and picking order.

Obey all safety rules, immediately reporting accidents to supervisor. Maintain clean work area.

May have to operate company vehicle to deliver products.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED);or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid CDL and have driven a CDL licensed truck for 12 months in the last 24 month period.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to hold a certificate for safe driving and operating of material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cherry pickers. Must  hold a valid CDL license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to successfully and safely drive forklift equipment; and may be required to drive and maneuver trucks on company premises for loading purposes; and safely operate cherry picker for storing or retrieving product in warehouse.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes. The employee may be exposed to some cold and hot weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
