As an Inside Sales Associate, you’ll be the go-to expert at our Tampa branch, helping customers, supporting Territory Managers, and keeping sales moving. This role is all about building relationships, solving problems, and creating great customer experiences.
What You’ll Do
Support Territory Managers with quotes, order entry, and product sourcing
Handle customer sales via phone, email, and walk-ins
Conduct weekly outbound calls to existing customers
Provide expertise on our product lines and help set up new accounts
Monitor customer trends and share insights with the branch and sales team
Communicate inventory needs to the Branch Manager and Replenishment team
Partner with Item Maintenance for new product setups
Assist with credit inquiries and customer-specific requirements
🏢 Work Environment
Office-based with regular visits into the warehouse
Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Business casual environment with a strong, team-oriented culture
✅ What We’re Looking For
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office 365, Word, and Excel
Familiarity with ERP systems (we use Prophet 21 / P21)
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to pitch in wherever needed
Prior phone-based or inside sales experience a plus
Knowledge of duct fabrication and the HVAC industry is a big plus

Conklin Metal Industries is a distributor of all types of sheet metal, and HVAC & Duct Fabrication supplies. We sell every material used in the construction of a commercial HVAC Duct system and have been buying and selling metal and metal products in the Southeastern United States for more than 140 years.
We service the entire southeastern U.S. out of ten warehouses. Each branch is managed by a branch manager, supported by one to three Territory Managers and services a territory that encompasses approximately a 200-mile radius. All branches vary in size and scope, and every branch serves the sheet metal and HVAC Duct Fabrication industry. However, many of our branches may differ in their specific market focus based on the regional market preferences and our team's strengths and experience.
We classify our products into several main Product Lines – Galvanized Coils & Sheets, Specialty Metals, Duct Fabrication Supplies, HVAC Air Distribution, HVAC Supplies and Duct Fabricating Machinery.
What you'll do
- As an Inside Sales Associate, you will support Territory Managers with quotes, order entry, and product sourcing while handling customer sales through various channels. You will also monitor customer trends and communicate inventory needs to the Branch Manager.
