Job Summary

As a Chorus Instructor at Concorde Education, you will help cultivate musical talent and appreciation among K-12 students. General Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a chorus curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of the students, focusing on vocal techniques, music theory, and performance skills.
  • Lead chorus sessions that teach students about voice modulation, harmonization, and choir dynamics.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment conducive to artistic expression and collaboration.
  • Assess students' vocal abilities and provide constructive feedback to improve their singing skills.
  • Collaborate with other music instructors and program coordinators to integrate the chorus curriculum with other musical and educational offerings.
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records of their achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders regarding student performance and program updates.
  • Ensure that all musical instruments, sheet music, and other resources are properly organized, maintained, and stored.

Major Duties

  • Curriculum Development: Craft lesson plans and modules that emphasize musical literacy, vocal techniques, and ensemble singing, along with fostering a love for music.
  • Classroom Instruction: Conduct engaging and dynamic chorus classes, ensuring inclusive participation and individual attention to students’ vocal development.
  • Student Assessment: Continuously evaluate student progress, tailoring instruction to individual and group needs.
  • Community Building: Cultivate an environment that encourages artistic expression, teamwork, and respect among students.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the condition and availability of music sheets, instruments, and audio equipment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of student participation, performance, and progression, and prepare reports as needed.
