
Reporting to the Senior Principal Development Scientist, you will provide technical leadership across functional groups while driving innovation from concept through commercialization. You will guide experiments, generate technical findings, influence business decisions, and oversee project execution within a highly innovative environment focused on new platform development.
This position will be onsite 4 days a week and candidate can be based in Omaha, Nebraska or Chicago, Illinois.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
Develop new products beginning at the concept phase through successful commercialization.
Design and conduct plant trials and lead new product start‑ups.
Plan, prioritize, and complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
Create product development schedules aligned with required project timelines.
Maintain accurate and complete records.
Work with pilot plant equipment.
Learn and utilize the online specification system.
Design and execute experiments and prepare results for technical review.
Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes.
Drive product cuttings, plant trials, and testing.
Manage other food scientists or technologists.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science
5+ years of relevant work experience.
Strong foundation in food science with expertise in product formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, process design, scale‑up, plant testing, and commercialization.
Demonstrated leadership with a proactive approach to developing technical solutions that support business and market needs.
Independently manages complex project work and multiple concurrent initiatives with effective prioritization.
Clear and influential communicator with strong collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and building strong internal and external partnerships.
Effective presenter with strong oral and written communication capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Strong problem‑solving and project‑management skills.
Knowledge of food industry quality standards, food safety expectations, FDA regulations, and government requirements for food processing
Willingness to work within manufacturing environments that may include loud noise, extreme temperatures, wet conditions, and exposure to food allergens.
Travel up to 40% as needed for projects.

Compensation:
Pay Range:$81,000-$118,000The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
