About this role

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.  
 
We are now hiring an experienced Full-Time Maintenance Technician to work homes in Ogden and West Valley City, UT. The Maintenance Technician maintains residential homes, facilities, and vehicles. This person is responsible for repairing issues that arise, completing regular maintenance plans, and working with local management to contract external contractors.
 
Starting pay is $20.00/ per hour

Must have reliable transportation to all work sites- reimbursed for mileage 

must have your own tools and a flexible schedule
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks
  • Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Ensure repairs are made timely in a way that is safe and in compliance with the local laws and regulations
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components including  appliances, fans, lights, flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, spackling, and basic electrical or plumbing  work
  • Advise management when an outside contractor may be necessary
  • Review contractor estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs
  •  Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
  •  Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
 
  • High school diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Ability to work safely with hands and power tools
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
