About this role

Job Summary

The Sr Clinical Informatics Training Specialist III effectively serves as the LMS Administrator and is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the Learning Management System (LMS) to support clinical Informatics training initiatives across the hospital enterprise. This role ensures accurate user access, course assignment, tracking, reporting, and system integration to meet regulatory, onboarding, and continuing education requirements. The LMS Administrator plays a critical role in facilitating effective learning experiences for clinical and non-clinical staff.

Essential Functions

  • System Administration
    • Manage and maintain the enterprise-wide LMS platform (e.g., HealthStream, Cornerstone, Saba, etc.)
    • Set up user accounts, assign learning paths, and manage course catalogs
    • Ensure system integration with HRIS, credentialing systems, and clinical information systems
    • Oversee system updates, upgrades, and testing in collaboration with IT and vendors
  • Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for end-users (clinical and non-clinical)
    • Troubleshoot access, enrollment, and course completion issues
    • Collaborate with IT and LMS vendors to resolve technical problems
  • Data & Reporting
    • Develop and distribute compliance and completion reports for clinical leadership, HR, and Quality teams
    • Monitor overdue training, regulatory compliance metrics, and learning outcomes
    • Create dashboards and visualizations for tracking enterprise training performance
  • Content & Course Management
    • Upload, organize, and manage training modules
    • Maintain course metadata, learning objects, certifications, and credit tracking
    • Schedule recurring trainings (e.g., annual compliance, EHR updates, onboarding)
  • Collaboration & Innovation
    • Partner with clinical educators, instructional designers, HR, IT, and compliance teams
    • Recommend improvements for learner experience, automation, and process efficiency
    • Assist with implementation of new learning technologies (e.g., mobile apps, microlearning)

       

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Advanced skill, certification, expertise or experience considered
    Education in Information Technology, Healthcare Education, Business, or related field
  • Required: 
    • 2+ years of experience administering an LMS in a healthcare, academic, or corporate setting
    • Proficiency in managing SCORM-compliant content and LMS reporting tools
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Preferred: 
    • Experience with HealthStream, Cornerstone, Docebo, Saba, or similar LMS
    • Familiarity with adult learning principles, continuing education (CEU) processes, or accreditation bodies
    • Basic understanding of healthcare training compliance (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, CMS)
    • Project management or change management experience
    • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for advanced reporting
