Make a Difference
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist serves as a consumer advocate, provides consumer information and peer support for consumers in community outpatient or inpatient settings. The CRS performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers engagement in treatment, in regaining control over their lives and recovery process. This individual will be involved with consumers and the interdisciplinary team in assessment, person-centered service planning, and culturally competent service delivery. The CRS will model competence in recovery and coping and is willing to utilize his/her own story of recovery to assist consumers toward their own recovery goals.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

·         Identifies self as a person living with mental illness or addiction.

·         Assist consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery.

·         Assist consumers in determining reasonable and holistic steps moving towards recovery.

·         Assist consumers in identifying barriers to recovery goals.

·         Assist consumers in identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills

·         High school diploma or GED equivalent required

·         Current Indiana Driver’s license required

·         Completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach Certification (preferred, or within 90 days of hire)
