This position assists dentists and dental hygienists with diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and surgical procedures, while also helping maintain smooth patient flow and supporting front desk operations as needed. QualificationsQualifications Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or at least one (1) year of chairside dental assisting experience. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of chairside dental procedures, infection control practices, and sterilization techniques. Proficiency with dental software, digital X-ray systems, and general office technology. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently. Calm, professional demeanor in fast-paced clinical environments. Bilingual skills a plus (if applicable to patient population). Physical and Environmental Requirements: Mobility: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods throughout the workday. Strength: Frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds (e.g., dental supplies, equipment). Manual Dexterity: Use hands and fingers for precise instrument handling and detailed tasks. Sensory: Must be able to hear conversational speech and use a telephone effectively; visual acuity required for reading charts, taking X-rays, and assisting in detailed dental procedures. Environment: Work is performed in a clinical and office setting with regular exposure to bodily fluids, dental materials, and chemicals used in sterilization and cleaning. Must adhere to PPE and safety protocols. Pace: Requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to frequent interruptions.
