
Description
The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring of patients on telemetry. This role focuses on accurate rhythm interpretation, early recognition of changes, and timely communication with nursing staff to support patient safety. The Monitor Technician plays a vital role in the inpatient care team and requires sustained attention in a fast-paced clinical environment. This opportunity is Registry, 12 hr. shift, 7pm-7:30am.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms for patients on telemetry
2. Interpret and recognize cardiac rhythms, rate changes, ectopy, and dysrhythmias
3.Identify significant or life-threatening rhythm changes and promptly notify nursing staff per protocol
4.Maintain appropriate alarm parameters based on patient condition
5. Document rhythm strips and monitoring activities accurately and timely
6. Troubleshoot telemetry equipment and lead placement issues
7. Maintain focus while monitoring multiple patients simultaneously
