Additional Information: This position works to support the physical plant services college-wide to ensure that the campuses and centers across the college under the responsibility of the Physical Plant Supervisor have the support needed to maintain the campuses and centers to advance the mission of the college.

General Summary: Performs semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, grounds and housekeeping duties for the overall upkeep and appearance for the Campus.
Job Specifications: Education and
Experience: High school diploma or GED and some vocational school training or one year of experience
in various field such as landscaping, cement/ asphalt, furniture repair or
vehicle preventive maintenance. It is a
requirement of this position to comply with all safety practices and all annual
training. Skills/Abilities
Requirements: Knowledgeable of general maintenance and repair
operations. Ability to travel to perform work duties at any campus or
center location within the CCAC system.
Ability to operate basic office equipment, including computer and
appropriate software packages, requires proficiency in College supportive
software. Required to have regular and
timely attendance. Physical
Requirements, If Applicable: Involves daily exposure to dirt, grease and electrical wires in both indoor and
outdoor settings. Must be able to climb
using various apparatus. Must be able to
lift, carry and move heavy materials for extended periods. Performs duties of a physical nature that
include: sitting, standing, walking,
bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs and ladders/step
stools. Typically,
lifts/pushes/pulls/carries items that weigh up to 50 lbs. (occasionally
heavier) and may require up to 50 lbs. of push/pull force to varying
distances. The ability to work in
inclement weather, extreme hot and cold weather.
Certifications/Licensures: Valid
driver's license. For landscaping positions, must be licensed
in spraying insecticides. Ability to
obtain forklift certification.
Job Duties: 1. Provides
quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
2. Performs one or more of the following
semiskilled maintenance duties:
a. Cut
grass, prune/plant trees and shrubs, and spray insecticide.
b. Asphalt
driveways, cement walkways, repair fences, remove snow, and pick up trash.
c. Repair metal/wood furniture, replace/straighten parts, refinish
wood, mend vinyl or upholstery material, and replace hinges, locks, and other
parts.
d. Perform
vehicle preventive maintenance, tune up engines, change oil, flush radiator,
replace exhaust systems, change tires, make minor body repairs, and remove
dents and scratches.
3. Assists in performing carpentry, painting,
heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, piping, and air conditioning
repairs, installations, and overhauls.
4. Assists or repairs drywall and prep
surfaces for painting.
5. Performs
preventive maintenance, oil, lubricate, and make minor repairs on mechanical
equipment.
6. Operates
campus vehicles including tractors, mowers, trucks, forklifts, and bobcats.
7. Performs any general housekeeping, maintenance,
grounds-keeping or other related duties as required or assigned.
8. Occasionally trains temporary, part-time or
newly hired employees.
9. Perform all duties in accordance with
applicable laws, collective bargaining agreements, board policies and
administrative regulations and directives.
10.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
